ALKAYAN will be participating for the fourth year at Decofair 2012 in Jeddah.
Decofair is the finest furniture show in the region where we will be introducing new materials and technology to the region, in partnership with Italy’s BERTI Wooden Floors.
ALKAYAN will be presenting the BERTI Antico line, which is becoming the trend of the future in that it consists of two layers of wood, marking the trend towards achieving a more economical product and contemporary look. Also on display will be the infamous laser inlaid flooring by BERTI, this time using walnut tiles and stainless steel, always bringing you the latest innovation in wood works.
ALKAYAN, which provides contracting and custom services to clients requiring high quality craftsmanship in the field of woodworks, is planning to expand to Qatar, Kuwait and Jordan after a year of unprecedented growth in Saudi Arabia where sales for parquet flooring shot up by more than 50 per cent in 2011, according to Corrado Mulfari, executive manager, Al Kayan and area manager, Middle East, for BERTIi.
Being the leading company in the field of natural laser inlaid parquet and external natural wood cladding, Al Kayan has a number of high-end residential projects in the kingdom despite the interiors market taking a beating in the region because of the economic downturn.
“We see a better 2012 and plan to expand our product range to include flooring consisting of wood and stainless steel and wood and marble,” Mulfari says. The company focuses on private residential villas and palaces mainly in Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam for its high-end parquet made to European specification and sustainability norms. “In 2012 we plan to do more of laser work – that is creating intricate design on parquet using laser,” he says.

Parquet is suitable for the region provided the temperature in parquet-laid dwellings is kept at a moderate level without exposing the wood to extremes. Al Kayan Décor imports all material, and does the installation and finishing coats with craftsmen trained by Italian installers.
